Frequently asked questions

Who can host on Spot a Group?
Licensed psychologists, psychotherapists, accredited counsellors, certified coaches and vetted facilitators with relevant credentials. During the application we verify your identity and professional license, certification or credentials; clinics, coaching collectives and teams on the Pro plan can onboard everyone under one account. Verification usually takes under 24 hours.
What's the difference between a group session and a webinar?
A group session is interactive and seat-limited — up to 15 people on Starter, unlimited on Premium and Pro. A webinar is broadcast-style with an unlimited audience, so you can sell as many seats as you like. Both carry a 5% transaction fee.
How and when do I get paid?
Members prepay when they book a seat. Your earnings, minus the transaction fee, are paid out to your bank account weekly. Every plan includes basic invoicing; Premium and Pro add CSV/PDF exports for your accounting.
Can I host in person as well as online?
We're just getting started, so for now all groups run online, using our secure video room. If you already run an in-person group and would like to bring it to Spot a Group, write to hello@spotagroup.com — we'd love to hear from you.
How do I bring my existing clients to Spot a Group?
We take care of everything for you — setting up your profile, creating your groups and events, and getting your booking page ready. Every group has a shareable booking link you can send directly to your clients, mailing list or social media. They book and pay through your page like any other member — and their seats count toward filling your group.
What happens if a member cancels?
You choose your cancellation policy per group — for example, full refund up to 24 hours before the session. When someone cancels inside your policy window, their seat automatically reopens on the marketplace.
Can I switch or cancel my plan?
Anytime. Membership is monthly with no lock-in: upgrades apply immediately, downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of your billing cycle. Your profile and reviews are kept if you decide to come back.
Does Spot a Group provide supervision or insurance?
No — you remain professionally responsible for your work, including any clinical, coaching, ethical or insurance obligations that apply to your practice. We verify hosts, handle the marketplace, payments and tools, and our Trust & Safety team is available whenever you need us.
